D. Perkins Events is a small, by choice, event design and planning boutique. My name is Datso and I have many years of experience coordinating events of all types and sizes. My design aesthetic is very classic with modern touches. With your guidance and design dreams, we will help you create an event that will be timelessly elegant. Reusable materials (linens, china, silverware etc.) and natural decorations sourced locally whenever possible (flowers, lots of flowers!) are very important to us and we strive to be environmentally friendly and leave as little waste behind as possible. I offer very customized planning and event design. Therefore, we have no set packages or prices, but as past clients can attest, we are worth every penny.

My family
Wedding set up
Almost 20 years ago I planned and designed my first wedding (photo above). The marriage didn't last but my for love for timeless event design and coordination did. We are a family business and you're likely to see my husband (I remarried and got it right!) and one, if not both, of our daughters setting up alongside me and my amazing team. Years into event planning, I started really acknowledging my love of graphic design and went back to school to be a graphic designer. In that time, I only did very select events to focus on my studies and my family. I came back to event planning reinvigorated with new skills and offerings. In that time my husband and I also built Humboldt County's very first and still most well equipped mobile bar staffed with top local mixologists, the Box Bar. I offer a very multifaceted planning and design experience with so many extras, from my organically grown flower and herb garden offerings to custom builds, constant availability and communication throughout the planning experience via phone, emails and even those occasional late nights texts to assuage any concerns. I am not a bubbly person but I am a "get things done, we've got this" person. In a rural area you have to be able to able to be flexible and a problem solver, and I am both.
